Celebrate Earth Day at Innisbrook on May 1st with a 5K Run/Walk & Family FestivitiesINNISBROOK, FL (April, 2010) – Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort, will host the 2nd Annual 5K and Family Event in honor of Earth Day on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Runners and walkers of all levels and ages will follow the beautiful, scenic course that winds through Innisbrook’s North Course, one of four championship golf courses at the resort.
Registration for the 5K begins at 7:00 am with the race commencing at 9:00 am. Cost of the run/walk is $20 for pre-registrations prior to event day, and $25 to sign up at the event. All 5K participants will receive a tree seedling to take home and plant in honor of Earth Day. Dogs are invited to join their owners as well; just be sure to bring bags for clean-ups, and a leash no longer than six feet.
Additional activities include a variety of Green Organizations and vendors which will be on site until 11:30 am to share information on how to live greener. Participants can also help someone in need of footwear by bringing gently used shoes for donation to Soles4Souls. Electronics can also be dropped off at Innisbrook’s free Electronic Recycling Drive, sponsored by Intercon Solutions.
