Woodlands Inn hosts a “Weekend of Wine” on May 15 and 16

Master Sommelier Robert Bath to lead series of seminars and dinners       

 

SUMMERVILLE, SC One of the world’s foremost wine experts, Master Sommelier Robert Bath, will lead a weekend filled with food, wine and fun at Woodlands Inn on May 15 and 16. One of only 150 people in the world to have achieved the distinction of Master Sommelier, Bath will hold a series of wine seminars throughout the weekend, and then enjoy the gourmet cuisine of Woodlands Executive Chef Nathan Whiting with participants in the evenings.


The intimate gathering is only available for up to 30 people and pricing begins at $299 per person for Friday’s and Saturday’s seminars and meals. A special rate of $199 per person is available for Saturday’s activities only, and accommodation rates for participants begin at $249 per room per night. All event and room pricing is exclusive of taxes and gratuities.

Friday, May 15

  • 3-5 p.m. – “Tasting Wine the Master’s Way” Seminar, with Robert Bath
  • 6-7 p.m. – Reception: Share your best 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Bring your favorite Cabernet Sauvignon to be blind tasted again wines picked by other wine aficionados at this event.
  • 7 p.m. – Private three-course wine pairing dinner featuring the acclaimed cuisine of Woodlands Executive Chef Nathan Whiting.

 

Saturday, May 16

  • 10 a.m.-Noon – “How to Pair Food and Wine” Seminar, with Robert Bath and Nathan Whiting
  • Lunch at your discretion
  • 2-4 p.m. – “The Exciting Wine Appellations of New Zealand” Seminar, with Robert Bath
  • 6-6:30 p.m. – Champagne Reception
  • 6:30 p.m. – Gala four-course wine pairing dinner featuring Chef Whiting’s cuisine
