MIDDLEBURG, VA (August 1, 2017) – Taking a modern approach on relationships, Salamander Resort & Spa is offering an exclusive weekend getaway for couples looking to reignite the fire and further their romantic connection. Lead by Dr. Esther Boykin, CEO of Group Therapy Associates and licensed marriage and family therapist, the Off the Couch Couples Weekend will take place at the resort from Friday September 29, to Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Surrounded by Salamander Resort & Spa’s natural and romantic setting, the weekend is filled with a diverse selection of hand picked activities for couples that have a feeling of disconnect and know their relationship is worth investing in. Throughout the weekend, couples are encouraged to rekindle and strengthen their bond through experiences rather than traditional therapy sessions.

Kicking off, guests are invited to get a taste of Harrimans Grill – the resort’s decadent Virginia Piedmont restaurant – where couples will have a chance to connect with one another and meet Dr. Boykin. Focusing on developing mind body connections, Saturday begins with a guided meditation and yoga class – creating connections beyond one self and extending them to their partner. Couples will then spice things up at an interactive cooking class, lead by Executive Chef Ryan Arensdorf at the Cooking Studio, working to create a delicious meal.

Guests will be able to partake in adventurous bonding activities such as zip lining, mountain biking and horseback riding while enjoying views of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Focusing on positive communication, couples will be able to see their companions through a different perspective during the EquiSpective program at Salamander’s Equestrian Center – the innovative personal discovery program unveils authentic communication through horses, which have the unique ability to respond to body language and energy.

Dr. Boykin will be leading a discussion focused on intimacy and romance and encourages couples to accompany each other for a date night to deepen their connection. All participating guests will also have a private 20-minute session with Dr. Boykin – giving time to discuss any concerns or questions and receive professional feedback positively impacting their relationship.

The love expert and author, Dr. Esther Boykin, shares her passion for healthy and beautiful relationships by helping others fulfill their lives through romance. Dr. Boykin’s unique therapy, “Conversations Off the Couch,” has helped couples mend through nontraditional therapy, such as events and activities, further fortifying their love.
