PALM HARBOR, FL - Salamander Hotels & Resorts has appointed Thomas McKinney-Stehr as the new Executive Chef at Innisbrook Resort, located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. The 900-acre full-service golf and spa resort, owned by Sheila C. Johnson, offers a variety of dining in four restaurants from the casual Market Salamander Grille & Bar to the signature Packard’s Steakhouse, named after the designer of Innisbrook’s four golf courses, Larry Packard.  McKinney-Stehr will also oversee the extensive catering services the resort offers for weddings, banquets, and corporate events in three conference centers.

“We are very excited to announce the addition of Chef Thomas to our executive team, bringing with him over 30 years of expertise in the hospitality and restaurant industries, including several well-known restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area,” said Richard Staley, Innisbrook’s General Manager. “  His expertise, sense of creativity and European influences will surely heighten the dining experience throughout all areas of the resort and we welcome his talents.

McKinney-Stehr, who was born in Germany to a restaurant family, has worked in a variety of four-star and four-diamond kitchens from Germany to Italy and in the Southeastern U.S, coming most recently from the Lied Lodge & Conference Center (NE).   He has previously worked in an Executive Chef role at Wild Dunes Resort (SC), Longboat Key Club & Resort (FL), the Westin Tampa Harbour Island and Jackson’s Bar-Bistro & Sushi in Tampa.   He has also previous held chef positions at Oystercatchers and Armani’s in Tampa.
