PALM HARBOR, FL - Salamander Hotels & Resorts has appointed Bobby Barnes as the new Director of Golf at Innisbrook Resort, located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. The 900-acre golf resort, owned by Sheila C. Johnson, hosts the annual PGA TOUR Valspar Championship presented by BB&T on its famed Copperhead Course March 11-15.
With over 20 years’ experience in the game of golf, Barnes has served as Innisbrook’s Head Golf Professional since 2009 and has been integrally involved with the resort’s annual preparations to accommodate the world’s finest golfers.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Barnes will oversee Innisbrook’s entire golf operation, which includes four championship courses, merchandising for three golf shops, and golf instruction. He will retain his involvement in daily clinics, playing and private lessons, and participation at the Innisbrook Golf Institute.
Prior to joining Innisbrook, Barnes was the Head Golf Professional at MetroWest Golf Club in Orlando, FL, while he also spent over a decade working in golf operations for the Walt Disney World Company.
