Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club Strengthens Sales & Marketing Team with new Executive Team Appointments

TAMPA BAY, FL, October, 2008 – Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club announces the addition of three industry leaders to its Executive team: Lloyd Williams as Resort Manager, Doug Schmidt as Director of Marketing and Membership, and Daniel Miller as Director of Sales.

With over 20 years of experience as a hospitality leader and professional in operations, marketing, sales management and staff development, Lloyd Williams joins Innisbrook from his former position as Vice President – Marketing and Resort Operations at Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, VA. At Wintergreen, his accomplishments included the highest group segment pre-sell in the resort’s 30- year history for two consecutive years, as well as record social room night goals. A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Williams began his career with Hilton Hotels Corporation. He subsequently held management positions with leading resorts including The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club (FL), Amelia Island Plantation (FL), The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center (TX), and Colonial Williamsburg (VA) where he served as General Manager of the Williamsburg Lodge and Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. As Resort Manager at Innisbrook, Williams will oversee all day-to-day operations.

With exceptional expertise as a golf marketing leader and professional, Doug Schmidt will oversee the creation and execution of Innisbrook’s advertising and marketing plan, along with the sales and management of the resort’s membership program. Most recently, Schmidt served as Innisbrook’s Director of Membership and Golf Marketing. He also previously served as the resort’s Director of Golf Promotions and Membership where he was responsible for golf group and package sales, special events and membership. Before coming to Florida, Schmidt owned and operated Charleston Golf Partners, a premier golf travel company serving Charleston, South Carolina and its resorts, including Kiawah Island, Wild Dunes and Seabrook Island. Schmidt also previously served as President of Kemper Sports Management, a Chicago-based firm that owns, leases and manages properties, where he was instrumental in the development of Royal Melbourne Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois and completely sold out memberships prior to the club’s opening. Schmidt also served as Vice Chairman of the 1989 PGA Championship at Kemper Lakes, and helped reinvent the Grand Slam of Golf.

As Innisbrook’s new Director of Sales, Dan Miller will oversee all sales related functions for the resort’s meetings and convention business, as well as catering and golf sales. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Miller spent 12 years with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts that included ten promotions at seven different properties, as well as the opening of three consecutive properties in the late 1990's. Miller recently played key roles in two large brand conversions with one being the second largest hotel in Philadelphia (Sheraton City Center), followed by another at the largest hotel in South Jersey outside of Atlantic City (Crowne Plaza Cherry Hill). Miller has been recognized for numerous accomplishments as a leader in the hospitality industry, including the President's Award for the highest year-over-year market share increase in the company at Wyndham Hotels in 2002.
