Prem Devadas is the president of Salamander Hospitality
Prem Devadas, President of Salamander Hotels & Resorts, is a 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry. After ten years with The Potomac Hotel Group in Washington, D.C., he left the Regional Director of Operations position to manage the lodging portfolio for CCA Industries, whose holdings include The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, and Kiawah Island Resort near Charleston, South Carolina. As Managing Director, he re-positioned The Jefferson Hotel and The Hermitage Hotel through extensive renovations and achieved Mobil Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond awards for the respective properties. At Kiawah Island, he directed all resort development on the 10,000 acre property, including the management of one of the largest condominium programs in the country and the successful opening in August, 2004 of The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, the new 255-room ultra luxury hotel which is hailed as one of the world’s best. In April, 2005, Prem joined Sheila Johnson to form Salamander Hotels & Resorts and to oversee the development of Salamander Resort & Spa, a luxury resort opening in 2013 in Middleburg, VA, near Washington, D.C. He directly oversees the company's portfolio, which also features the Grand Golf Resorts of Florida, a collection of three stellar golf resorts including the recently renovated Innisbrook Resort near Tampa, Reunion Resort in Orlando and the oceanfront Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast.
